A Catholic Convert talks about faith and life

The battle lines are drawn, here is one of our soldiers

I highly recommend you take seven minutes of your life and watch this video.  We are in a fight, whether we like it or not.  It’s time to rally the troops and stand up for ourselves, now the only question is how?  Prayer is a good place to start.  I know that’s where I’m going to start.

I heard this video this morning on “Seize the Day” with Gus Lloyd, and Gus was asking if people like to hear a priest talk like this, or if they think that our priests should stay out of politics.  Personally, I love to hear this kind of stuff from our priests.  I think we need to know exactly what we are up against, and exactly where our Church stands on the subject.

As for mixing politics with religion, that wasn’t our choice.  That was the government’s choice when they decided to declare that religious institutions will be forced to pay for things that they find to be morally evil.  The current administration wants to define “religious institution” by such narrow terms that no institution would qualify, and when the government starts defining our religion for us, we have no choice but to fight.  Religion and politics can no longer be mutually exclusive, as politics has decided to take on and define religion, and the definition is not one that we can live with.  The battle has just begun, the good news is that we already know the winner.  In the end, the very end, we win – Christ proved that on the cross.  In the meantime, however, we still have to fight.

Kevin, I have to admit that I didn’t know what it was the first time I heard it, but if you look up the video on youtube it tells you that it’s Matt Maher. I knew you would recognize it!
